From a small Amsterdam kitchen to a beloved local institution
You might have known us previously as Amstel Bites - we're excited to announce our rebranding to Trin Trava! While we'll gradually update our logos to reflect this change, our commitment to quality remains unchanged.
Founded in 2015 by chef Lucas van Dijk and hospitality expert Emma de Vries, Trin Trava began as a passion project to reinterpret Dutch culinary traditions for the modern palate. What started as a tiny 20-seat cafe on a quiet canal has grown into one of Amsterdam's most beloved dining destinations.
Our new name Trin Trava reflects our energetic approach to reimagining Dutch flavors while drawing inspiration from global cuisines, just as our previous name referenced our location by the Amstel River.
Our team of chefs, baristas, and hospitality staff come from diverse backgrounds but share a common commitment to excellence. Many of our team members have been with us since the beginning (back when we were Amstel Bites), helping to shape the warm, welcoming atmosphere that our guests love.
We're proud to source ingredients from local Dutch producers whenever possible, supporting our community while reducing our environmental impact.
We never compromise on ingredients or preparation. Every dish reflects our high standards, whether it bears our former Amstel Bites name or new Trin Trava branding.
While respecting tradition, we're always exploring new flavors, techniques, and now - a fresh identity as Trin Trava.
